Spring Trench Coat | All Black & A Pop Of Color

Good evening, friends! I hope this blog post finds you well. This is an adorable look from last week! I didn't want to miss posting this. Although the clothes are from last year, I'm going to try to find something similar for you, I hope you'll enjoy it nonetheless and that you read my From My Heart section!

LET'S TALK STYLE :
This almost all black outfit got a Spring Break makeover! I chose some wild color lime green sandal to dance with this LBD!  I love that putting on a hat instantly makes the look uber chic! I also love a trench coat, I love the way they are light and perfect for the Spring and also add so much character to your look!

As for the shoes, you don't have to worry if you don't have lime green, I hope that if you like this look, you'll create it with any color sandal you do have!

FROM MY HEART:
Today I went all over creation with my kids since they were out of school. One of the last places we visited was the rose garden at McKinnley park. If you're in the Sacramento area and you haven't been, please go, it's a beautiful park!  We were perusing the rose garden and my almost three-year-old little bullet was running in and out of the maze-like rows. I noticed briefly that she was holding something in her tiny hand but couldn't quite make out what it was. I was distracted by my other little bullet and forgot about it. We then took a stroll over to the other side to the park and played a ton especially in the sand pit! After we were ready to head back to the car I paid attention more carefully to Haylee, the almost three-year-old. She was still holding on to something tightly in her little hand. I could see something red peaking through. I asked her what it was and she hid her hand. I told her she had to show me and she slowly opened her hand an low and behold there were about five disgusting jelly beans that had bleed through to her fair skin making a kaleidoscope of colors on her palm. She had been playing for about an hour with these beans tightly gripped. I don't understand why she didn't eat them right away, maybe she knew she shouldn't. I asked her where she got them and she said she found them on the ground. YUCK! I told her I didn't want her to put them in her mouth, goodness knows what germs were on them. I told her that if she gave them to me and didn't throw a fit, I would reward her with some Easter Egg bubble gum I had in my car. I said, "Can you trust mommy, to give you better?"  She took a minute and then agreed, but after giving them to me quickly lost it for a minute. She then decided she would trust me so we headed to the car for some yummy clean gum!

It was so interesting to me that she spent the WHOLE time at the park with them in a death grip. I'm sure not having FULL use of her hand hindered her in some way. But she kept them anyway.  It got me thinking how sometimes I keep YUCKY jelly beans in my heart that hinder me from really living life. I felt like God was showing me a beautiful visual of how I tend to grip so tightly to my nasty little beans, thinking they are going to be "oh so good." Yet He is so ready to give me BETTER. But do I trust Him to? That's a question I've had to ask myself a lot lately. I have been overcoming a lot of grief in my life and I finally feel like I'm at a point where I just want to let go and see what my Heavenly Father has for me. Don't you? K, bye! Thank you for stopping by!
