You Are More Valuable Than The Labels On You Back
Blogger Babes that contributed to the event: Haley Titus, Heather Dubinetskiy, Alie Gattison, Kachet Jackson. Major thanks to The Glass Slipper thank you, Jen, for your support. And Daniel I couldn't have done this without your mentoring! Thank you!
I recently had a pop-up shop where I got together with bloggers from Sacramento and we sold our closets in this really fun environment. We also raised money from the ticket sales and some of the bloggers donating their closets for a great cause! We partnered with The Glass Slipper a non-profit here in Sacramento helping many young-at-risk kiddos for over nineteen years! At the beginning, my goal was to just be able to produce this event period. Then I realized I needed a $ goal for how much I would like the event to raise for them. So I think maybe $100! Then I remembered my God and how mighty he is and I thought we'll say $1,000! Then I got blown away that at the end of the day we had raised $1600! Amazing. The biggest lessons I gained from going from idea (of anything really) to execution is this; You must set a goal, write it down, make it measurable (have a timeline and something to measure with, like I had my $1,000)! Then you do all you can do to get there. Write to-do lists that will get you a little step closer to that goal. My other takeaway was this. People are awesome. They want to help! Being in community is much better than isolating. Two brains are better than one!! I thank God for the opportunity to speak at the event! I wanted to share my heart and here's the video of that if you'd like to check it out!
