Casual Night Out | CAST: Roberta Schmidt

Happy Monday, family! I hope you had a blessed weekend! I am so sorry for what happened in America, last week. My heart broke for all of the events that shattered our joy and confidence in humanity. However, I was reminded to weep with those who weep and to empathize and seek to understand. I was also reminded to exult God over ANYTHING else. If I dwelled in the horror of events such as that, I would have a broken spirit and that's what Satan wants. He wants to kill and destroy our hope and joy.

I know that God can use even the worst of circumstances for the good of those who love him because he has done it with me! I know we can trust God because he is faithful and has done miracles in my life that have me a BELIEVER that he IS who He says that he is!!  But know My heart was/.is with you if you had to suffer any pain last week.

I am so very sorry for the African American community, I can't even pretend to know how you feel. But I am sorry you have been marginalized and made feel less of value. YOU ARE VALUABLE IN THE SIGHT OF YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER. He created you black for a VERY VERY special reason that is unique and beautiful to you. You are just as you should be and nothing needs to change about you, physically, to make you worthy of freedom, love and connection. I love you and I hope and pray that you'd see yourself as valuable in God's eyes. I don't think there will ever be a time that people won't be racist. We live in such a fallen world, but you can find your freedom from  this weight that has been carried for so many generations, by finding your freedom in Christ! I had to do that myself as an immigrant,  and a victim of abuse; I had to surrender and find my healing from those things, to truly enjoy the freedom Christ died to give me. Now, I see that my worth is in HIM, my value is in HIM, my dignity is in HIM. I hope you can too! Not easy, but possible, friend!

I am grieving with the police. I know there are great cops out there, and I am not oblivious that there are those who are corrupt. But for the ones that are upright, I can't imagine what they go through day in day out. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. Thank you for your courage and bravery to make the choice to defend this land when it some times doesn't defend you. I am sorry for this difficult season!!

I firmly believe that unity and peace can come to our land because with God, ALL things are possible.
