How To Follow The Call Of God On Your Life
I’ve always known deep down inside that my life belonged in a movie. I have witnessed the very best of life and the very worst of life. So, in all honesty, I believe that my life belongs on a big screen. Wouldn’t it be nice for you to see all that I’ve walked through and validate my hurting soul? I hope you can catch the sarcasm in my voice……
The more I grow and delve deeper into healing with God for my own pain; the more I recognize that YOU have a story too. That you have been through hell and back and that your life could also make a big-screen pop with the ups and downs of your journey. I don’t know what you’ve been through, beloved friend, but I know you’ve been through some things that have probably made you feel discouraged, hurt, betrayed, abandoned, rejected, a tad bit or majorly damaged. I don’t even need to know the details but this I do know, God cares about your life so intimately in the same way he cares for mine. And he wants to take the worst pain in your life and turn it into a message of hope first for you and then after you’ve found some freedom and healing. for someone else to find hope that they are human, normal and not alone! Through our brokenness, God speaks to others that are still in bondage. So I commend you for wanting to say yes to the call of God in your life! That takes guts and courage! And if you’re breathing you’ve got a call, honey! No matter who you are or where you’ve come from.
We all have a story to tell and we all have difficult times and victory times. This is life, anyway! What we do with our scars is what matters. Don’t let your pain go to waste. Let God use if for your good and the good of many! ( Genesis 50:20)
How To Follow The Call Of God On Your Life
My hope is that you’d feel the freedom to know you matter. Your life is important and your healing on whatever level is necessary. My prayer for you today is that you’d access God’s peace for today and allow him to do the work in you that he needs to do in order for you to become the person he meant for you to be. There is too much at stake here if you and I don’t wake up and take life seriously. If there is breath in both of us that means there’s a purpose for being on this earth.
I understand the brunt and frustration of wanting to know HOW to do what God is calling us to do. God if you could just give me a to-do list, I’d do it. I believe from past experience that God is interested in us becoming who he meant us to be first. Then we can find a clear WHY for the journey. Why do you want to partner with God? What is important to you? Who do you want to impact? Focus on that first! The “how” shows up as you move forward into the journey, letting God lead, and mold you and shape you. It makes no sense to me either friend. But I’ve seen it time and time again in my life. I get nervous that I don’t know how often and if all my focus goes to that, It creates waves of anxiety and feeling unequipped for the job. And it’s true, without God, I don’t measure up, but with God all things are possible! (Mathew 19:26) I change my speech to match the truth of God; I tuck into my thoughts and my prayers God’s word to encourage my heart! “ So I lift my eyes up to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth! (Psalm 121: 1-2 )” If my focus is Jesus and his word for that day, I can do what he desires for me to do because I’m connected to the vine! (John 15:45) If I focus on leaning on him to make me whole and safe for myself to then be an inspiration to those around me, I am allowing his Holy Spirit to guide my steps! He, in fact, is a miracle worker, the how shows up inevitably as I press into him with prayer, worship, and surrender to my own ways! My focus shifts from how to who.
My prayer for you is that you’d say yes to God and yourself in-spite of not knowing “how”. Will you be courageous and bold and move towards the direction of God’s call in your life today? Even the smallest action steps make the most ripples in the sight of heaven. I’m rooting for you. Praying for you. Thanking God for what you’ll create out of the treasure you have found in times of difficulty and challenge. I am excited to see how you’ll impact this earth we all live in. You are important and your purpose matters. Someone is waiting for you to say yes. Or try again! Remember your strength is not your skill, it is in your faith, and your faith is absolutely covered by Jesus’ faith IN YOU! You have no room to fail in the end. You might fail as you try but that’s a part of the journey. Failure is in the same neighborhood as success.
Have a beautiful week and I pray you don’t remain in any doubt, shame or fear! That you’d boldly walk worthy of the call of God in your life. ( Ephesians 4:1)
