As I’ve grown and had my own space to decorate, some of my favorite memories are of setting the mood for Fall with simple decorative items. Here’s how I get into the Fall Spirit and start to decorate my home I hope you find these tips helpful:
11 Simple Fall Decor Tips | Living Room Fall 2020
Clean the space; I can not start decorating any space if it isn’t clean and tidy.
Set the mood with candles and scent!
Turn on a moody playlist and get the decorations out. Listening to music motivates me so much, I love Beegie Adair!
Remove previous decorations and see if anything is a good fit for the Fall Decor you envision. For example. I took a Summer vase and added Fall faux-florals. We can reuse our items!
Replace photos in frames that feel like Fall to you! Look through coffee table books to see if you find any art you’d love to display. I carefully cut out a piece of art from a book if I love it. I also love making our own art with my kids, I think it looks beautiful and it gives it a non-stuffy, very personal touch.
See what you have from previous years and use only what gets you giddy. “Shop” different areas of your home to save some money and make the most of what you already have.
Switching decor from room-to-room is refreshing. You can even get cray-cray and re-arrange your furniture! I keep changing these adorable personalized books everywhere and they look so pretty!
Give yourself a color mood. Find maybe 3 colors you want to decorate around and stick to that.
Make a list of items you’re missing to create the feel you want and then shop wisely for them! This year I added a beautiful gray vase and faux flowers into our home.
Fill the space with fresh or faux flowers with your color mood!
Know that you and your home do enough, no matter what.
There’s been so much that I am grateful for. The fact I have a home right now makes me just so grateful. I feel almost silly for posting this when so many have lost their homes recently in California due to the fires. I just truly hope this post just gives some inspiration to you if you’re in the mood to decorate your home with some simple Fall Decor. I am all about taking a neutral space and living it up with a few little statement pieces that give the Fall Vibes. And here I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Simple Fall Decorations.
Let me know if you have some decorating tips for me, I’d love to hear!
