4 Autumn-Inspired DIY Beauty Face Masks | 2017
Thank you, Good Day Sacramento, for having me back to share my Autumn inspired DIY face masks!
Autumn. Fall. Whatever you call it, it's -a -coming!!! Here are 4 simple and inexpensive DIY beauty face masks that you can try on for size. I dare you not to try to eat them while they are working their magic on your face! I love natural recipes that you can easily make at home! I believe most of the ingredients are already in your pantry, maybe with the exception of Turmeric. I had never heard of it until last year when I made Golden Milk to help me heal from my cold! It has benefits that work on your skin as well!
Rough Skin
Let's talk about the benefits you'll enjoy when you make this pumpkin pure mask. According to the International Dermal Institute
"Pumpkin is packed with fruit enzymes and alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), which increases cell turnover, to brighten and smooth the skin. Pumpkin contains antioxidant Vitamin A and Vitamin C to help soften and soothe the skin and boost collagen production to prevent the signs of aging."
Sign me up! That's all I'm sayin'! The honey is going to moisturize your skin even further and the brown sugar will help slough off and exfoliate some of those dead skin cells that have been making your skin rough and dull.
DRY SKIN
Avocado is my best friend. Just saying.
Because, one: Guacamole.
Two: Avocado toast.
Three: Green smoothies.
Four: My face!?! Wow, really, avocado? Wow! God's genius is displayed most beautifully in this creamy amazing little cado' - in my opinion! The combo of avocado and coconut oil will leave your skin hydrated while the nutmeg will firm your skin and fade away tiny wrinkles and the cinnamon is just going to make you want to eat your mask off your face. Well, that is if you like the smell as much as I do! Make sure you're extra careful with this mask if you have sensitive skin, please don't rub too hard as it can cause irritation. Be gentle, friend! Be gentle!
OILY SKIN
If you have oily skin here's a mask that is going to help you. You have to grind the rolled oats to have the best consistency and you can do this in a food processor or a try your blender if you have one!
Oatmeal is known to be a humectant, it aids your skin in retaining its moisture whilst giving you a glowing and dewy appearance. In the mean time, it also absorbs the oil leaving your skin feeling matte! Combine it with the power of lemons and egg with its pore refining benefits and you got yourself an amazing little mask!
ACNE PRONE SKIN
If you're struggling with acne, I'm so sorry! I know the hurt that comes from that. The physical pain on your face as well as the feelings that come with just wanting your face to feel and look "normal". Just know that even with acne, you are beautiful or handsome and enough, just as you are! Here's something you can test out and see how your skin responds. I wouldn't say that one application will be the cure, however, it doesn't hurt to try something natural and if you are consistent with it, it very well could help you out!
Turmeric according to Dr Axe is known for being amazing for reducing acne. Here's why:
"Turmeric, a herb used as a main ingredient in curry, can benefit your skin as a home remedy for acne, eczema, psoriasis, dry skin, wrinkles and dark circles under the eyes. It also reduces skin inflammation due to being high in antioxidants and slows down cell damage. As well, it can help reduce pigmentation that evens out skin tone."
So give it a shot, I hope it works and helps you clear up your skin!
Thank you so much for your readership, you mean so much to me and I truly feel blessed and so grateful to get to share with you!
