I am the biggest Christmas nerd AND I am also the biggest gift-giving nerd. You put two of my very favorite things together and I almost “can’t even” (is that what the cool kids are saying?) I am so honored to give you a robust gift list for every woman in your life, ranging from the luxury lover, the hostess, the homebody, the teenager, the tween, and the beauty lover. I am your bonified, gift-giving-elf as well as a T.V. Lifestyle Expert so my word is taken seriously, you hear? LOL

I know what it’s like to feel hurried and in the hustle and bustle of this season and to be swept up with the “HURRY” and “BUSY” of this time of year…

But guess what my beloved friend, We don’t have to subscribe to that.

In. Fact. We. Can. Take. Our. Sweet. Time.

Don’t let the out-of-stock and cancel-culture mentality rush you into gift-giving for your loved ones. In the realness of this new season of a post-pandemic and post-Covid world what we need more of right now is to slow down and receive the gift of Jesus. The neverending loving mercy that he brings and the reason why we even celebrate Christmas in the first place.

“Presents will abound and there is plenty.”

Those have been my thoughts when I’m fed by the media that gifts will not ship in time. That’s all a scarcity mentality and I don’t subscribe to that. I do love to listen and then make my own decisions about who I want to BE in this season.

Sometimes the biggest gifts we can give ourselves and our loved ones aren’t something we can buy and for that; I pray that you’d discover how to light a fire within you this season to celebrate. Celebrate in spite of losing that loved one, celebrate in spite of not knowing where you’ll be working next year, celebrate in spite of going through a divorce, celebrate in spite of being in pain or having an illness. I pray you don’t feel pressure from me but rather encouragement.

Know that I am the one who needs to be reminded to celebrate even after my dad’s death, even after I've lost so much this year, even after I have healed from multiple traumas in my life. I don’t say celebrate lightly to you, especially if the challenges you face are recent. I hope you feel encouraged to celebrate and not told to put on a happy face. I think there is much to be learned from celebrating a “happy time” in a new way; Not happy that we’ve lost, but celebrating that even when we are in the dark God has us in the palm of his hands. Because when you rejoice, you find a hope stirring in you that tells to your circumstances; There’s a BIG God on my corner and I’m going to celebrate who he is to me this season. No matter what. There IS also space for your pain or grief. There is! Jesus is capable of taking you and ALL of your emotions. Life is a mixed bag of emotions and you can both experience joy at the same time of grief. And after we deal head-on with our grief God opens up a pathway to feeling able to smile. At least that’s what I’ve experienced thus far on my journey.

HOW TO ENJOY CHRISTMAS WHEN I FEEL SAD AND DEPRESSED

I felt so depressed from not having my dad for the second Christmas since he died from Brain Cancer in 2020. My heart felt so dark and I told my husband. This year I really feel so depressed in my grief journey. I’m either going to go dark and not celebrate at all. Or I’m going to be Crazy Christmas Lady.

Guess which I picked? hahaha Here’s a list of the things I didn’t want in December. I hope it gives you a push to choose who you want to be these next LAST days of 2021. You have the choice. And the Christmas Spirit does not just switch on. It can be cultivated by the little choices you make;

  • To decorate.

  • To make some hot chocolate.

  • To watch your favorite Christmas movie. (Mine are Elf, Home Alone, White Christmas, Noelle)

  • To make some Christmas cookies that you’ve never made.

Make yourself fall in love with this season. Below is a list of the character traits I want to have this December.

Who do you want to be?

Here’s who I don’t want to be:

1.- Hurried

2.- Stressed

3.- Anxious

4.- Lacking

5.- Never feeling enough and not allowing anything to be enough

Here’s Who I Want To BE And The Intention Of My December:

1.- Peaceful

2,- Present

3.- Content

4.- Marveling at the wonder in the ordinary moments of my life, remember my child-like wonder

5.- Delighting in the gorgeousness of the Christmas season and ENJOYING my day-to-day WITH its ups and downs.

Now that we have our best intentions and a strong foot forward, below is a plethora of gift ideas for the ladies in your life. This blog post can also act as a wish list for anyone you want to drop some hints to, wink-wink.

I pray you gift well this year and that just means really thinking about the person you’re going to give the gift to. Let me know what is it that is on the top of your wish list. I’d love to know in a comment down below!
